FAQs on Justice
What is Justice?
Justice is a gorgeous, exciting sailing vessel! A 1998 Voyage 430 catamaran, known for its sleek design, safe handling, comfort, and true-sailing feel. Justice is 43-feet long and 25-feet wide with spacious decks, trampoline, and bow seating, a shaded cockpit, freshwater stern rinse. There are bathrooms on board and a fully stocked galley.
How do I get on and off the boat?
Sailing charters in St. Thomas requires a very short dinghy (small boat) ride to and from your sailboat. Guests need to be physically able to board the dinghy from the marina pier, which will take you to Justice. At the end of your trip, you will reverse the process, exiting the boat to the dinghy and then climbing back onto the pier. If you are agile and relatively fit, you should have no problems.
What should I wear?
Casual, comfortable clothing is the norm on Justice. Please wear shoes with a light-colored, rubber-sole (i.e., sneakers), or just go barefoot (that’s what we usually do). If you plan to go swimming or snorkeling, please wear or bring your bathing suit and bring a towel. The Caribbean sun can be quite strong, so we advise guests to use non-aerosol, reef-friendly sunscreen and/or a sun shirt or rash guard.
Will I get seasick?
If you are concerned, you should consult your doctor beforehand and see if he or she would recommend any remedies you can bring along.
Where do we snorkel?
We will be snorkeling the beautiful St. John National Park. This is a much more secluded and private experience where you will see beautiful coral reefs, sparkling waters, and sealife.
Is it OK to bring my own food and drinks?
Certainly! There is room in our spacious cooler, and other non-cold items can be stowed until needed. Our catered charters offer everything you need, but feel free to bring along anything special you wish to eat or drink.
What is Mumfy’s Famous Pum Runch?
Real juice, local rum, and a few secret down-island ingredients make our unforgettable signature drink.
What is included in lunch?
A typical Caribbean lunch might be fresh Caprese sandwiches, chicken Caesar salad in Paradise, and cheesecake for dessert. Please advise us of any dietary cautions we should know about when booking your sailing trip.
What about safety?
Justice is one of the larger day charter boats, built for safety, comfort, and good times. We adhere to all federal, state, and international safety standards, and Captain Ryan is a US Coast-Guard Certified captain in excellent standing. Justice is fully equipped with GPS, VHF, and a host of other safety equipment. Relax and enjoy yourself!
What about the weather?
We listen to, watch, and read detailed information about weather 24 x 365 (every day). Fortunately, the weather is usually sunny and mild. We will not go out in lightening, confused seas or other uncomfortable weather at the captain’s discretion. If this happens, we will gladly reschedule for a mutually agreeable date.
How many people can Justice accommodate?
Justice can comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests.
Is gratuity necessary?
Rates include everything except crew gratuity. The industry standard is 15 – 20%.
